Chingay Festival at night man!

I remembered long long time ago when I was still a virgin girl * blush * ahem! actually way younger than that, back when I was only 10 years old my dad used to bring us for the annual Chingay procession at Penang Road.

Background of Chingay : Chingay is an art of carrying large poles of flag usually on the chin or forehead and processing it on a fixed route consisting of the main streets. These pole carriers range from Chinese to Malay and Indians, with Chinese dominating the "sport" in the early times when the art just started. The flags bear names of sponsors or simply the names of associations as well as the municipal councils'. The procession will usually start with people's representatives; then a school band from an esteemed high school; municipal council's pole and its carrier teams; and then followed by a mixture of sponsored poles; lion & dragon dance troupes; clowns and so on. The highlight of the procession is usually the performance of skilled pole carriers showing off how they are able to hurl up the massive pole by one foot to the other person's head or chin or chest or whatever body part they could land it on. The procession is very long and can go on and on for hours.

Last time the procession was held in the mornings say like 10am but I've lost track of since when that they have changed the procession time to night time :S

Ok so I don't sound like I really know my facts but what the heck, I've got many photos which I've taken by standing up on a high location for more than one freaking hour, wearing a slightly heeled sandal alright! So whoever you are reading this, better appreciate it you noob!

Don't ever underestimate the scale of crowd it gathers coz it's massive!!! I can tell you when we first 'jom-ed' our place around 7:30pm the street was only 'lined' by people from both sides of the street. But the minute we saw the lights coming from the head of the procession, out of nowhere, people start pouring onto the streets as if flood striked! Scary!

This is the dragon dance. I like the length of the dragon and the wave it makes, so elegant..

Ain't that POLE huge? ;)

Now I caught this on film! The guy on the right just hurled the pole whereby the guy on the left managed to catch it with his chin! Way to go!

This is the clown from Pesta Pulau Pinang. (translation : Penang Fun Fair - held annually during year end long school holidays)

Notice how high up my position was compared to everybody else's? I'm not bluffing you y'know... I really stood there (alongside my sweet bf cum security guard) for over an hour, drenched in sweat just to watch the procession!

This was supposed to be the (much awaited) lion dance but my bf was telling me that by the time the procession reached our location, they're very much worn out by 60% already and hence the lacking of Energy! Spirit! and Oooommpphh! anymore....

Here's a shot of yet another sponsored BIG pole :) I LIKE POLES.... mmmm....

Housewarming & Welcoming Baby!

Any similarities between the both? Can't think of one? They're both auspiscious occassions la! C'mon use your bLain, use your bLain..[quote: Phua Chu Kang]

Before my God-Sis invited me to her housewarming party on 7th Jan, I've already bought her a gift to congratulate her in moving into her very own house since it's really good news for her! She really deserved it coz the discipline and hardwork she put in to realise her dream was really something commendable and should be looked up to. I still remember how she told me to put off at least 40% of your pay every month so that I can have a comfortable amount of money by end of the day. I really salute her for being able to follow this rule faithfully and now she can even afford nearly RM 40k worth of renovation, imagine that....

So I got her something warm, literally - a table lamp which is very unique coz it's made of natural pieces like sea shells, wood, thick recycled paper etc. I thought it could artify and add some element to the living room or her bedroom or something :)

And that the place where I bought her gift, the wrapping is given free! Initially I was a bit upset due to the amount of time I had to wait for the person to wrap my gift for me, but the wait was quite worth it coz the result was nice! I chose the light purple wrapper, btw

The bowtie was nicely done, the top and bottom folds were 100% symmetrical! I'm going crazy coz all my life (so far) I can say I'm not bad of a gift wrapper myself but the symmetrical triangle folds at the ends were just too damn good!

Check it out! It's... THAT symmetrical alrite!

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
OK, my dear honey's childhood pal and best fren have just been officially promoted to dad status and I've bought some little somethings for the new mama as well to congratulate them for having the first baby and it's a BOY (verryy envious) too! After my honey bought his share of the gift, I bought the wrapper and gave it a good touch up and here's the result!

The gifts themselves have no firm corners nor box so it's quite a challenge to actually pack up the thing in a nice manner so my handikraft is already as good as it gets. I particularly liked the cute baby tweety patterns with different expressions! See......

His & Her U2 Watches (or is it?)

Back last month (exact : December 2005) I won myself a nice U2 watch from the good people in Jun Lee Sdn. Bhd. It's actually a contest on their website http://www.u2-watch.com and the game works this way:-

Contestants are given random pieces of jigsaw puzzle consisting of 9 pieces each, and the goal of the game is to reshuffle them back in its place in the fastest time possible to qualify for the daily 10 prizes of U2 watch each.

They'll show you the complete picture first alongside with the 9 pieces; and then, as soon as you click "Play" the stopwatch on the side starts ticking and you hafta start dragging and dropping all the pieces in the
correct place as fast as you can. After finishing, the stopwatch halts and that's your time. You can choose whether or not to submit that particular time that you played or choose to play again without submitting, simply because each individual (with a valid IC no.) are only allowed to submit their entries ONLY ONCE.

Which means, you wanna be reaaaaly sure that your time is Freaking fast before you submit coz who knows, some Tom Dick & Harry might just beat your time by a second and you happen to be on the 10th fastest time spot and suddenly, your time becomes the 11th fastest time = no prize.

Actually the game isn't hard, PROVIDED that you study the damn picture very well and jot down each of the 9 pieces' location and the sequence from where and to where you should drag and drop the pieces. All done in a flawless flow with no mistakes so to save time. Every piece that is dropped in the wrong spot, the piece will be immediately plonked back to a different spot on the side as a penalty. So I played the game and got 7 seconds and submitted it. The next day, I looked up the results and my name was there! Yipee I got myself a U2 watch, piece of cake!

But then, I received an e-mail from Jun Lee Sdn. Bhd. confirming my win as well as instructions asking me to collect my prize from their office in KL (!) That was not a good news and so I'm began to worry how am I supposed to go and collect it, can I delegate someone else to collect it on my behalf, etc..etc.. Later on I actually called and enquired them on how will outstation people be able to go and collect it? They told me that discussions are underway to arrange for all the prizes to be mailed out to all winners residing outside KL & Selangor.

So one fine day one of them called me up and informed me that they have sent out my prize to my address! I was excited! Told my bf about it and we waited anxiously. It came in Pos Laju parcels and we both went and collected it at night (the collection centre opens til sometime around 8:30pm) and we got these!

This is my bf's (smaller)

And this is mine! (Look at the size!) *wide & excited eyes*

After opening it up, this is what my bf's look like inside:-

Check out mine which I think is equally creative in their packaging:-

In case you haven't notice yet... It turned out that both the watch prize that we got are of the same model! %*((&^%###!#$%*&@ ~excitement level immediately dropped~ Oh well, we didn't expect much from free prizes anyway and mind you, these prizes are worth RM 249 each (it came with a price tag and a warranty card, refer below) so DON'T underestiamte it.

Anyway, I think U2 is aggressively promoting its new Watch line and trying to grab hold of the slightly above average watch accessory market by giving away lower end watches from their line in an effort to promote their new model launches. So who gains from it end of the day? SMART people like me who knows when and where to look AND EARN prizes!

Heh... Heh...

Many Backdated Posts

Hi everyone! Let's cut the crap here.. I think many of my *very few* readers might have already lost interest in my blog as it's been n months ago since I've updated it!

Truth is, I've actually written up 4 posts with pics to upload but even that, I couldn't find time to do it. Go on, blame it on my current company who's stressing me out.

So now, I'll kick off the first one! (from oldest post to the most current ones)

Christmas mood was especially strong for me this year (or should I say last year since it was in 2005), not sure why, my mood was exceptionally happy even a few weeks prior to X'mas day itself, has it got to do with the tress??

On the contrary, it's 17th Jan today(the day I've written this post), 12 days to Chinese New Year but I still don't really feel the Chinese New Year mood yet, especially when all the people mountain people sea people are already flocking ANY super or hyper markets they can land their feet on already!!!! Albeit the fact that I listen to CNY songs on MY FM everyday doesn't really help much either.. *sigh*

IN Chinese New Year...

Got quite a lot of heavyweight ang pows (as usual) coming into the 4th day of Chinese New Year and my brother just went back to his RM 300k house in KL this morning - and I'm freaking glad.

Had a terrible case of diarrhea last night at 3 a.m. where I woke up from a bad windy stomachache. I virtually emptied my entire stomach into the toilet bowl and swallowed 2 tablets of CHARCOAL then sat around in the living room for a while before getting back into sleep. What a long and tiring night it was. Rootcause definitely being a combination of Korean seaweeds overdosage at my bf's friend's house plus the Pat Chan (Cantonese name for a type of traditional soup for women) I gulped down earlier that night.

Anyway, my brother didn't fail to piss me off once again - first the fact that when we cousins gambled together with our partners and my grandma, he gambled in RM3, RM5 and sometimes RM 10 when all of us either gambled only RM1 or RM 2, so in the end losing to my cousin brother. So now what? He stops playing with us, opens his mouth and complains that he just lost RM 70-RM 80 blah blah blah blah and my dad secretly gave him RM 20 (my dad was losing in mahjong as well) and he came back and gambled with us again - in the same nominations.

Afterwhich the cycle repeats itself - he lost and complained - my dad gave him another dunno how much for him to gamble te next day. And my brother took it again. He's do damn CHEAP I tell you. Helloooo!! YOU are the one who wanted to gamble so big then lose lose lah! Since you got plenty of money what. Do you think he'll give my dad some money if he wins? HAH. Not in a million years he won't. So what makes him think that he can simply take my dad's money AGAIN AND AGAIN after losing his own? He even said so proudly "This is given to me so if I lose then lose lah, but if I win it's mine" (something in between the lines) Shameless cheapass. Come on, how old are you again? 29 year old eldest son? So what if dad was the one offering you? You shouldn't take it!

I'm not bragging or anything. If I lose or win it's my own money. I don't take from my parents nor my grandma. That's why I know my style, I can't afford to lose too much money otherwise I will feel sakit hati (translate : [Malay] hurt very badly inside) that's the reason why I only gamble in RM1 and sometimes RM 2 only.

I took the extra mile in giving my parents ang pows of RM 50 each this year coz an elderly lady was telling me that it's time for children to give back their parents ang pows, as a gesture of showing them that you appreciated their love and hardship in bringing us up until this day. I never questioned my brother did he give my parents ang pows but if he was the one who took the initiative to give my parents ang pows he would be the first to question them or myself have I contributed my part. *eyes rolled*

There are a few more incidents that made me almost lose my top when all he does is to open his big loud mouth up when not being spoken to, causing me to literally hate him even more. I cannot stand the fact that he's acting and commenting on many things as though today, he is THE ONE forking out money and taking care of the entire family and that he's the BOSS, everyone has to bow down to him and obey him. Now he's commenting how my dad wastes water when he takes shower; commenting how rude dad is when he speaks on the phone; taking role as my dad in telling me what time I should be home; and the list goes on. I just have this feeling that he's beginning to criticise our parents, totally forgetting the fact that it was our parents that brought us up in a very harsh way, with limited financial and all.

Honestly, it's really ironic for me to be yearning for the day my own brother goes back to KL. But this is what he's doing to me - making me hate him more and more with his words and actions. There was a time when my aunt and cousins asked him to start preparing to get married by this year end, he said no money and my aunt commented that he can ask my parents to support him he said so loudly "Get married also need parents to support meh, no lah" I was thinking to myself "If you're so damn capable, try NOT asking any single cents from my parents or grandma!" He told them "I haven't even finished with the renovations of my house yet, have to see how much money is left from there first". So what does he mean? If there's no more money left then he'll consider opening his big mouth again and in comes money from my parents and grandma. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP!!!!!!!

I really shouldn't start talking about him coz I know I couldn't stop.

************************

On another note, my friends are also driving me nuts. A who's in Singapore says she'll be back for CNY and suggested to meet up with me and another friend, B. I took the initiative to call her asking when is the date she wanted to have the gathering. She said when and when she's not available and so I said ok, I'll talk to B on the date confirmation, but because I don't have B's mobile (mobile stolen last time) but happens so that A has B's mobile I asked A to give me B's mobile. I sms-ed B and in the end we decided on a date convenient to all 3 of us. But A doesn't have transport so I told her to liase with B to pick her up and she said OK. So we were supposed to meet today and yesterday I met B coincidentally and asked her did A contact her for tansport arrangement? She said no, no calls or sms from A at all so I said ok, maybe I'll ask A to call you or something, so I sms-ed A and she replied me that she can't seem to be able to reach B so she doesn't wanna go anymore. In the end B changed the venue and asked me to pick A up and she will send A back instead so I said fine.

And 2 hours before the appointment B sms-ed saying that last minute she can't make it. I've already lost patience coz A's attitude was really bad coz she was the one proposing a gathering and having no transport but in the end it was ME taking the initiaves and actions to put the gathering in place, and all she got to do was liase with B on transport arrangement and she gave the excuse of not being able to reach B, how is that possible? She just has to call B that's all! A has B's number so why can't she contact B herself? But A expects ME to go to the extent of arranging the transport with B FOR HER? In the end I also don't mind asking my bf to go and fetch her together and then B cancelled it last minute and A gets pissed off again asking us to inform her earlier next time for cancellations, well it's not MY problem anyway coz A and B are the ones that are HARDEST to please! I'm so pissed off coz I really feel that RICH PEOPLE ARE VERY HARD TO PLEASE. They expect us to serve them, do everything for them and gets unsatisfied easily when they never even contributed anything at all. So I told myself I ain't gonna do anything for them ever again. If they wanna have gathering then by all means go ahead and arrange it themselves. No more next time for me.

**********************************

The only times when I feel happy during this Chinese New Year so far is when I joined my bf and his pals at the karaoke and also the afternoon spent at his house on the 2nd day of CNY, oh, and also the gathering with my dearest gal pals yesterday night.

I'm feeling a bit nervous about my first few days at the new workplace, because of transportation arrangements as I can only get my new car by end of the first working week. Other than that, I'm quite excited and looking forward to my new job, meeting new people and embracing the change into a new environment and new job functions. Good Luck and cheers ya all! Doggie Lunar New Year

Zhao Chai Jiiiiiinn Baaaaaaaaoooo........! (Translate : [Mandarin] Attracting wealth into your home)

Me and my bf have been singing this song, uhm, more like a verse to be exact so we can have more wealth during this auspiscious Chinese New Year 2006 - welcoming the Year of the Dog! Money money come come, money money come come..... mari mari mari! (Translate : [Malay] Come)

Gong Xi Gong Xi is just 3 days away and already it's CNY??? Since when does time fly in lightning speed instead of YEAR speed? Unbelievable as to how time can zoom past us so quickly. It's really true that time passes by like a snail when you're away from home + if you're homesick or having a rough time at the new place; but the very same timframe can zoom right past you year in and year out leaving you feeling like you've just been through life for a month or two.

I'm not looking forward to this year's CNY - in terms of not looking forward to the return of my brother (which is tomorrow btw). Just 2 days ago he called me up and asked me what kind of job did I manage to get in the new company (apparently my mom told him about me starting my new job after CNY) and how am I going to work without transport; and when I told him I've booked a car waiting for the car to arrive he continued to INTERROGATE the price of the car, how many years am I taking the loan for; why didn't I buy a MyVi (waiting period of 8 mths to 1 year? you gotta be joking!) and asked me 'Between Kelisa and Kenari which car is cheaper?' which directly translates to "If you're gonna get a car get the cheaper one since you can't really afford it with ease" so I just sorta told him off by saying I'm the one who's paying every single cents from the downpayment up to monthly loan repayments, thank you VERY MUCH for your KIND concern whether am I gonna ask from my parents or my grandma.

I told my bf about it and I said "Luckily he didn't ask you how much is your salary in the new job", coz guess what? If he asks me, I'm going to ask him how much is his salary then? And if he asks me why do I wanna know then I will ask him back then why does HE WANNA KNOW then? What makes him think he's much superior than I am? I afford everything I want where he just opens his mouth and money comes plonking right into his hands, easy as 1-2-3. I give my parents money every single month without fail, even sometimes I'm a bit tight or short on cash but still I know I must give my parents, no matter what. Unlike some people who SHIOK SHIOK give, SHIOK SHIOK don't give. Then better keep all your freaking money to yourself, you cheapass!

So I know I shouldn't be getting so upset approaching CNY but he never fails to bring out the upsetness in me. He's coming back with my mom tomorrow and I'm forced to move away all my stuff to my grandma's room coz I'll be staying there (just like every single CNY) and not to mention my total denial of Internet access coz he'll be occupying it 24 X 7 from my room. bah.

He better not ask me anything else about my new job, coz I ain't gonna tell him more coz I'm not obliged to report to him about my life!

Enough of frustration.

Here let's wish for a better tomorrow and of course, a wealthy Lunar New Year ahead with abundance of Wealth, Prime Health, and lots of Love all around everyone of us. Aim high, work hard but work smart, and may good luck follow us always.

Happy Chinese New Year 2006 everyone!

My X'mas presents!

Me and my bf agreed to get X'mas pressies for each other and I got this!

Actually my bf asked what I wanted for x'mas present but I told him he should have noted the few occassions where I've expressed my likings towards some stuff and it's gonna be no fun if I were to pin-point to him what I exactly wanted; coz ultimately, anything that he buys me is precious to me :)

So he purposely went shopping on 23rd of Dec and got me an Aromatherapy set that I thought was cute coz there's a fisherman fishing (obviously) see!

And the sides are also decorated with fishy shaped holes so if you light up the burner at night with lights off, the walls will be full of fishes!

CUTE!!!!!

How nice and frenly is the fisher's face? He's so cute coz he doesn't even realise that he'll never be able to catch a fish (other thatn the one he already caught during high tide heheh) from a pool of water contaminated with fragrant oil that is constantly being burnt! :)

Due to his budget constraint, I had to buy myself the fragrant oil (which I'm glad in doing so coz he's no good in selecting the right aroma for me :) so I bought one from Lovely Lace - Rose scent coz it smells really good! Makes me feel good too :D

I didn't actually buy a present for my boyfren, so I spent 3 days making a 3-D like card for him instead (that's the one featured in an earlier post)

And this is Catherine's belated X'mas gift! All the way from Down Under

There's a card that came in an apple green envelope; a handmade x'mas star-bell and a precious guardian angel made of pewter!

How thoughtful of her to improvise on her passion for Chinese Knots and make a very Christmassy Star-shaped knot with details of Large bow, tiny red and gold ribbons and a bell to make it such a hearty X'mas present! And what's more, it even came with a home-made Gold-Starry pack that oozes even more Christmassy feel!

That's not all, she even bought me a nice and elegant guardian angel made of pearl and Australian pewter ........

What about the card? How could we miss that one out huh? Here it is...... I've never doubted an artists' touches to anything.. it just makes the piece fall into place regardless of what they're trying to make...

Good things come in HIDDEN packages

It's already the Year 2006 so STOP being such a slacker and procrastinater!!!!!!

That's me right there giving a hard time on myself coz I'm such a lazy bum.

Truth is, A LOT has happened lately and it's so hard to re-cap everything in a go, I'll TRY to summarise it right here (latest to oldest):-

1. I've got a new job and will be starting work in February
2. I'm gonna buy a new car to ferry myself to and from the new workplace
3. I've got LOADS of new clothes for Chinese New Year or for whatever purpose
4. I've got a cute aromatherapy set for my X'mas present from my honey!
5. I received a belated X'mas present from my dear fren DownUnder Catherine!

And........... last but not least...................
6. I've managed to recover my laptop after it has been stolen approximately 2 months' ago!

For all of the above, I consider myself A REALLY REALLY LUCKY & BLESSED GIRL to have been blessed with so many good things that I thought was impossible to realise, such as landing a new job, finally being able to get my own car and not to mention recovering my laptop! (All the way from KL) and all the LOVE that was showered to me by my family, good frens and of course, my sweet boyfren. They have all been supportive and sincerely happy for my positive changes... thanks to everyone who cared.........

What a great wrap to the year 2005 and a beautiful head start to the new year 2006!

Wishing a Happy and Fruitful year 2006 for all!

X'mas Mood Anyone?

X'mas is just around the corner.

But lots have taken place for the past week. I just lost a friendship, because of words that shouldn't be spoken.

Anyhow, me and my bf will be exchanging Chirstmas presents this year, just like we did last year. I forgot what I gave him last year but the clay rooster sitting on my white desk is exactly 1 year old now as of today. Talk about meaningful Christmas present. He claims it's cute.. fat and all. No comments to that though :S

Anyway, I'm a bit dry on cash so after reading Karen's Blog her X'mas cards gave me inspiration. I've made something for my bf and hope he'll like it. I hurt his feelings today so I hope I can still make it up to him tomorrow, by melting his heart!

Sneaky peek! Shhhh... it's supposed to be a surprise....

Weird People

Came back from lunch this afternoon, colleague parked her car on multistorey carpark at 6th floor as usual.

Saw 2 people - a man and a lady stepping out from their car with the plate "MAA xxxx", gathering some of their cases and documents.

I pressed on the lift "^" (our office is on the 12th floor), suddenly my colleague said she forgot her sunspecs *ai mei* (always wanna be pretty) so she dashed back to her car to get it.

Meanwhile, the lady we saw earlier came with 2 fairly huge document cases (looked like they're about to explode anytime soon), and so I held the lift with one hand (actually I was just waiting for my colleague), the lady spoke:

"Wait for Mr. Chong, he's coming soon".

I didn't reply her. I guess they must be some hot shot of MAA or something (judging from their car number plate) Did I mention before that our building is called MAA Tower?

Anyhow I waited, not for Mr. Chong (whoever that may be), I was waiting for Dorene, mind you. Dorene came and just when she was entering the lift I still held on to the door and reiterated what the lady said "Wait for Mr. Chong, he's coming soon".

So while waiting (thinking what on earth are we doing waiting for this guy?), I asked the lady "Which Floor?" and she spoke in language that sounded like alien language to me "xxx division, xxxxx, Ms. Tan". I went like "HUH?????????" (in my mind) totally clueless.

Dorene finally spoke up "You wanna go to MAA office is it?"
Lady : "Yes"
Dorene: "So it should be... i think... 8th floor"
Lady : "I'm not sure also... Ms. Tan there.."
Dorene: "Actually the whole building is not MAA only, there are other offices one"
Lady: "Oh is it? Then I think I'll wait up for Mr. Chong first..."

................. And off she went out.

We both thought to ourselves : How can people just simply assume that everyone is working FOR them? Based on nothing at all? Although the damn building is belonging to the company, eventhough YOU are the CEO of the company, doesn't mean every Tom Dick and Harry who happens to appear in the building are all under you and they're expected to know everything about your company as well as looking highly up to you? I just find it very interesting that there ARE such people who simply take things for granted, Just like that.

Come on......... Grow up!

* Applaude to Dorene for telling her the fact * = clap clap clap clap clap clap =

I'm so IRRITATED!

I've been trying to put in my post on the previous 3 little cute tins of Winnie the Pooh cookies and I've tried so hard to include a link to my previous post and it failed miserably, even after I've referenced so many websites and looked at their source codes.

That's not so irritating afterall, isn't it? The most irritating part of all is, for some idiotic reasons all my writings and scriblings for this post are all GONE!!!! Even the 12 pictures I've uploaded, taking up like 100 years of my freaking time! Andnow it's permanently gone.. and I have to re-do it all over again???

I'll skip the damn post, it has made me lose my top coz I've been going thru lotsa shit at work lately and my PERIOD is coming - soon!

I still love my PowerPuff Girls though... *angelic grin*

Marathon to be continued.. *yawn*

Sorry folks.. looks like the marathon has to go through half time now.. it's 12am already and I still gotta drag my disgustingly fat body to work tomorrow (my freaking manager won't be back till Thursday and he's already been away since3 days ago, leaving me doing MOST of his work FOR him! #&^%$%%*&#@^@

A bit of run down of what's next! => We've got Pressies (for others, not for me); X'mas trees; Power Puff Girls! (not telling now in what form PpG will appear :) . . . . my silly bf doing something cute (ok ok, I know nobody has the slightest interest in that); the latest add-on to my limited collection of necklace; and Part II of Hadyai Winnie the Pooh cookies (my grandma has the results of the ranking - which cookie flavour is the best, 2nd and last)

Marathon part II will be more exciting!!!

I just can't resist..... to post a sneaky sneak preview:

(^v^)

My friend is officially a boss now

The very same day I cut a foot and a finger, my friend has officially become a boss - he's now a proud co-owner of a cafe called T-Jay, located at upper Penang Road. His gf helped in developing a nice Power Point presentation and distributed it to everyone she knew, with many people receiving the file and getting a pokey nose on this new cafe in town as well.

Just a peek at one of the most crucial slide of all:-

There's a last slide capturing the front view of the cafe - a nice shot too but unfortunately me don't have any decent photo-editting software other than MS Paint so I didn't wanna put up a poor quality image here.

I had Hawaiian Grilled Chicken set lunch in the afternoon and Seafood Cheese Baked Rice for my dinner (all in the same day!) Too bad we were in a rush during lunch time due to the time spent searching for a car park then waiting for each of the components of the set to arrive, hence I didn't take any pics on my meal :(

But at night I got a little smarter and snapped a pic on my Seafood cheese baked rice and then my Float (The float doesn't look quite delicious from the pic though:

The food are quite nice & reasonably priced - a bit too generous in portion but still comes recommended from MUA :) Coz you know why? The chef has years of experience in Equatorial Hotel and then Genting's main kitchen as well - how 'keng' (unbeatable) is that?

Plans are already underway to hold our annual X'mas gathering among our frens at this place so if I haven't got any plans for X'mas eve, will definitely try to snap more pics of the food while trying not to look like a siao lang (psycho) ...

Actual application of Chicken Little Bad Aid

December 1st is definitely NOT my day - first I accidentally tipped a coffee cup and it fell on the floor with one of its pieces making a slight cut on my right foot; then I came back to my office, to have another paper cut on my right hand's 4th finger. That moment, I was really scared of something BIG might happen :S

I used the normal bandaid in my handbag first to protect the wound while I just washed off the blood oozing out from my finger. After I got home, I changed the band aid on my foot with the Fishy Chicken Little band aid (I never expected to be using the band aids so soon)

But honestly, the band aid IS really water proof as it claims coz nothing got seeped through to my wound even after I showered for like 15 minutes or so, and its transparent outlook makes the cartoon stand out even more - it's so cute!!! - but expensive too :)

Year End Marathon Blog Update!

Been procrastinating my blog update for as long as I can remember so let's beat the bush (pshk! pshk! - beating the bush sound effect) and get on with the blog!

First up - me and my beloved bf had a wonderful escapade (28-29th Nov) but it was a bit disappointing on the hotel's drop in standards *sigh* for one, the cleanliness of the room is highly doubtful as we encountered a mini cockroach around the living area near the mini bar while having Jenni's blueberry cheesecake we opted to take away.

The water at the pool was ice cold (can't blame 'em coz it was raining for the whole week) and the day when we checked in was quite a nice sunny day, it didn't help much even after we swam and swam non-stop coz the second we stop, the chillness comes right back hitting our body. That was how we ended up cutting short our swim and headed up to our room for shower then a warm jacuzzi instead (the water we prepared for the jacuzzi is not hot enough even when we ONLY turned on the hot water tap and no cold water argh!!!)

But, the bathroom where the jacuzzi is located leaks (or whatever that causes the leak) brought about inconvenience after we enjoyed our jacuzzi session just to realise that our whole bathroom / wardrobe area is being flooded! OH NO!!!!! We became instant house-keepers, wiping the water while at the same time using our feet to 'sweep' the water down the damn hole on the floor.

At night, we literally reserved the entire Casablanca Restaurant all to ourselves coz when we arrived, there was only 1 couple dining and after a while when they left, there's only the 2 of us! How cool is that? For RM80 we can "BAO" the whole restaurant already :D, but I guess Spanish/Mediterranean cuisine is not really my league, I still prefer stuff that Dome, Salsa, 68 Kelawei and Secret Recipe has to offer, not to mention Hong Kong cuisines that Wong Kok and Ice Ice Baby provides as well! (More on Ice Ice Baby later)

At night, after having half of the blueberry cheesecake, my bf decided our night was a bit to bland to just spend in the room so we went and joined his frens at Mambo. It wasn't as lau juak (exciting) as it was the last time around with more frens, more of them getting drunk and high so everybody just about sat around our table the whole nite, so we retreated to our little hotel room quite early and had a little kinky fun with role playing.. although i've regretted it a bit coz he was soooo into his role that he ignored my genuine plead, thinking that i'm just playing my role *duh~*

So we ended up getting up quite late the next day, took our showers together before packing our stuff and headed to our Chicken Rice at Goh Thiew Chiek Chulia St. Good chicken rice! 2 thumbs up! After that we went back to our place, rested a while and then headed to Red Box for a long awaited karaoke session - but I guess both of us were a bit worn out so we were definitely NOT at our best in vocals and singing :)

All in all, it was a nice getaway that we both could use of, but just a bit disappointed on the hotel coz the standard has definitely dropped tremendously - such a shame coz the hotel is one which I personally am quite fond of. Oh well, guess it's time to search and try a new hotel then :) E&O maybe? haha.... Too bad I don't grow money on trees though....
