Uee - wishing u & hubby loving always~!

Just came back from Nilai for our beloved Ji Mui Uee's wedding! Tiring one but we were all so happy and excited! All of us took a day's leave to drive down to Nilai as she's getting married to her bf, and she's our very first ji mui to get married! What's there NOT to be excited about?

Credit has got to go to BL - SL's bf who drove his car, cauffering us professionally; and also our dear Mun, driving another car to get all 8 of us safely to and from Penang - Nilai, we love ya all! And also not forgetting Uee and Hubby as well as her Father-In-Law who took well care of us, taking us into their considerations, taking care of our every meal and making sure our stay there is as pleasant and comfy as possible... our deepest gratitude comes from the bottom of our hearts!

Day 1
* * * *
Our journey started in the afternoon around 3pm on Friday.. with SL picking me and YTeng up to go her house before that... she's the one who bought the wedding gift for Uee, and wrapped it up nicely as well:-

And then off we went! After grabbing ourselves some Baskin Robbins at Tesco that is :) Along the way we had snacks and SL offered us this very traditional-looking pastille - MoFaKo pastilles - obviously made from MoFaKo, which is a type of fruit (btw that's BL - SL's bf in the background :) - not the picture on the pastille's box ok?)

We stopped by Shell station for a petrol refill near to Nilai and saw a car being towed by the PLUS service truck to the same petrol station - Goodness! I can't imagine how people can be so ignorant to drive til their fuel ran high dry and not realise it at all? We had a good laugh coz the driver and its passenger were both men! :D

After about 5 hours + of road trip, finally we reached Nilai Hotel following Uee's navigate-friendly map! This is where we're going to stay for 2 nights...

That's Uee the bride-to-be there checking in for us :)

While that's going on, we were all busy checking out the couple sock doll that Ling hand-made as a gift for Uee and her Hubby, they're so cute!!!! Can't believe how nice the socks doll are - the left one is the bridegroom, with both hands tucked inside pockets and the right being the bride - complete with her flower and headscarf

If you think the sock dolls are SUPER CUTE!!! You can get hold of them yourself too! Just leave a comment under this post and I will send you Ling's contact e-mail for ordering :D I can guarantee you will be mesmerised by the cute-ness of the dolls

And this is the room - pretty small but 'nuff for us to shower, make up and sleep in anyway, which is the whole purpose of the room right?

One thing to note is, I love the shower head!!!! It's so freaking big and taking a shower is like a luxury... just like showering under pouring rain! It saves time during my hair-washing session too! :D

Right after our check-in we were invited to the bridegroom-to-be's Lao Thia Meh (the night before wedding day) as they have a buffet catering at their house, we were starving like hell by then and were greeted warmly by the bridegroom-to-be when we arrive there, with him not forgetting to fish for some tips from us Ji Muis on the games we're going to play on him and his pals on the big day the following morning..... ha! We're not gonna reveal anything *tight lips*

One of the memorable food there was the Kajang satays - they were so damn goooooooood! Me and Mun finished 12 of 'em! And they had a box of mini mandarin oranges - cute!! That's GS - Ling's bf holding out the mini orange for me

After dinner we were back at the hotel for some unpacking and chit chat... and by 1130pm we were at Uee's room downstairs, to witness the very traditional hair-combing ceremony called Soh Thao / Seong Thao (Cantonese for hair combing) where both her grandparents held onto the comb and combed her hair 3 times while uttering well wishes for Uee and her hubby's happiness and well-being as husband and wife..

That's Uee's grandmother tying a red ribbon and green leaf on her hair after the combing.. that's her youngest brother in the background

After soh thao we discussed a run down on all the games we were going to play at the bridegroom and his 'heng tai's (Cantonese for best pals) and we had 3 games up our sleeves, but could not figure out who should be the lead to 'chair' the whole event so Teng suggested we draw lots to see who is gonna be responsible for game#1, #2 and #3... and mine was '0'! So in the end Ling, SL and Teng were in charge :)

After that we were all pretty much worn out from the long distance journey and went to bed......

To be continued on The Big Day - Day 2 and final day return trip.......
